1.         1:30PM - Fluor Peter J/Ann K - PLN130109

            Project Planner:  Steve Mason.  Environmental Status:  Exempt.  Project Description:  Combined Development Permit consisting of: 1) A Coastal Administrative Permit and Design Approval to allow the construction of accessory structures to an existing 7,421 square foot three‑story single family dwelling including removal of existing 483 square foot deck/terrace with spa to be replaced at the same location with a 1,148 square foot deck/terrace including a 36 square foot fire pit, infinity‑edge‑type spa, outdoor barbecue, pizza oven and counter areas.  Project to also include a new guest parking area adjacent to the existing circular driveway turnaround, and interior and exterior remodel.  Exterior changes to the single family dwelling to include new aluminum framed exterior doors and windows, new stucco finished chimney with copper cap, and a new standing seam metal roof above the new storage area; stucco and paint to match existing. Project also includes the removal of 3,213 square feet of impervious driveway and walkway area, to be replaced with permeable pavers, and the addition of 1,870 square feet of impervious materials.  Combined impervious surface and structural coverage (within the Pescadero Watershed) of 10,092 square feet to be reduced to 8,749 square feet; and 2) a Coastal Development Permit for development within 750 feet of a known archaeological resource. The property is located at 3371 Del Ciervo Rd, Pebble Beach (Assessor's Parcel Number 008‑391‑002‑000), at the convergence of 17 Mile Drive and Del Ciervo Road, Del Monte Forest Land Use Plan, Coastal Zone.  Recommended Action:  Approve Project

 

2.         1:40PM - George Thomas H Jr - PLN130067

            Project Planner:  Elizabeth Gonzales.  Environmental Status:  Exempt.  Project Description:  Variance to allow a reduction of the required 100‑foot front yard setback on Carmel Valley Road to allow development of a 519 square foot addition and remodel to an existing 700 square foot single family dwelling with an attached 636 square foot workshop and guesthouse; a new 1,024 square foot attached three‑car garage, the demolition of existing 525 square foot detached barn/storage and a 124 square foot shed, new septic system; and Design Approval.  The property is located at 5840 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel (Assessor's Parcel Number 015‑251‑006‑000), Carmel Valley Master Plan.  Recommended Action:  Approve Project

 

3.         1:50PM - STG Firestone LLC - PLN130335

            Project Planner:  Bob Schubert.  Environmental Status:  Exempt.  Project Description:  Use Permit to allow an agricultural plastics recycling facility within a 124,500 square foot portion of the existing Firestone Business Park. The facility will divert agricultural plastics into plastic resin to be reused. Dirty plastics will be shredded into small fragments, pre‑washed through a series of centrigues and sink‑float tanks to remove contamination, then sent through a fine wet grinder, several centrigues and a sink‑float tank to remove all residual contamination, and then dried and extruded into plastic pellets that can be used for a number of new plastic manufacturing applications.  The property is located at 340 El Camino Real, Salinas (Assessor's Parcel Number 177‑132‑039‑000), Greater Salinas Area Plan.  Recommended Action:  Approve Project.

The Recommended Action indicates the staff recommendation at the time the agenda was prepared.  That recommendation does not limit the Zoning Administrator’s alternative actions on any matter before it.
