Your donation to Monterey County Free Libraries is greatly appreciated. Here are a few ways of giving:

The Foundation for MCFL

Your donation to FMCFL will support the entire library system. Donate online at or call Julia Foster, Director of Foundation Operations (831) 424-3564 or email

Give to a Branch "Friends of the Library"

MCFL Amazon Wish List
Purchase an item that the libraries need from MCFL's Amazon Wish List.
Amazon will send it to our Administrative Offices to be received and processed for the library.

Donate Materials
Donate your books, DVDs and audio books on CD to your local MCFL branch. We need recent materials in excellent condition. For more information about donating appropriate materials, see our Gift Policy for guidelines. Please call your branch library to arrange a drop off time for larger collections.

Volunteer at the Library
Your time is a gift. To inquire about volunteer opportunities please call the branch of your choice or fill out our volunteer form and bring it with you on your next visit to the library.

Volunteer to Teach an Adult to Read

Interested in helping out your community? You can change a life by helping an adult to read, write, speak, or understand English better. Volunteers for the Adult Literacy Program provide one-on-one tutoring to help learners reach their goals. We currently have 90 Literacy Tutors but we still have 101 learners who want to be matched with a tutor. Help us bridge the gap and participate in our tutor orientation.

For more information please call 831-883-7597, email or access the Adult Literacy Web Page.

Thank you for your support!
